DAY 2 - Turnagain Arm / Alaska Wildlife Center / Sea Kayaking

Lunch in Seward before embarking on a sea kayaking excursion in Resurrection Bay. A guided paddle along sculpted coastal
beauty.
Dinner and Seward overnight lodging. (L,D)

DAY 3 - Alaska Sealife Center / Kenai Fjords Wildlife and Glacier Cruise
After breakfast tour the Alaska Sealife Center, a $56 million project towards study and restoration of Alaska’s marine wildlife. A 6 hour cruise into Kenai Fjords National Park allows ample marine animal and bird life viewing along with tide water glaciers and Seward’s scenic coastal line. See otters, sea lions, eagles and other marine bird life. Watch for whales and calving glaciers. Beautiful coastline scenery of temperate rain forest, sculpted cliffs and protected coves with long pebble beaches.
Dinner and return to overnight accommodations. (B,L,D)

DAY 4 - Portage Glacier / Anchorage / Hatcher Pass
Travel north to the Mat-Su valley, stopping en route to view wildlife as seen.
Visit Portage Glacier and observatory. View a short film “Voices from the Ice” to learn more about Alaska’s glaciers.
Lunch at the Sourdough Mining Company in Anchorage with time to visit the Alaska Wildberry Products gift shop.
Continue north to the high mountain pass known as Hatcher Pass. A short nature walk offers sweeping views of tundra, jagged mountain peaks and valleys. A tour of the historic Independence Gold Mine provides a glimpse of early hard rock gold mining.
Dinner before checking into Wasilla lodging. (B,L,D)

DAY 5 - Glacier Trek on the Matanuska Glacier / River Rafting
A full day trip that begins with a scenic drive along the Matanuska River, through canyons and mountains, to the river’s point of origin, a massive glacier nestled in the mountains of high country. The Matanuska Glacier is one of the very few in Alaska you can walk right up to and even hike on!
Join in the Ice Fall trek, a 3 hour guided trek that is a great introduction to glaciology, geology and natural history.
After a quick break for lunch we head out to raft Lion’s Head, which begins near the face of the glacier where the flow is squeezed through canyon walls creating several miles of great fun. Hold on for the ride through Class III and IV whitewater - excellent for first timer’s trip! For those who prefer a milder option, a scenic Matanuska float trip is available
at the same time.
Tonight’s dinner is in an Alaskan family restaurant as we travel to Wasilla accommodations for a good night’s sleep. (B,L,D)

DAY 6 - Talkeetna / Flightsee Denali / Denali
Travel to Denali, en route visit Talkeetna, a rustic, Alaskan frontier town with incredible views of Denali.
Flightseeing Denali - Fly over lush valleys and enter the Ice Age world of the Alaska Range through the great gorge; fly deeper into the park over massive glaciers and wind-sculptured ridges for the best views of remote regions of the park and even land on a glacier.
Continue travel to Denali, stopping for wildlife or scenic views before checking in to Denali accommodations. (B,L,D)

DAY 7 - Denali National Park & Preserve / Nenana Whitewater Rafting
A full day excursion into the park allows plenty of time to explore. Denali exemplifies interior Alaska’s character as one of the world’s last great frontiers for wilderness adventure.
Today’s highlights are the amazing scenic and wildlife viewing and a wilderness hike in the park.
Evening rafting on the Nenana River, take the popular Canyon Run and journey 11 miles through Denali Park frontier on exciting class III to IV water. Or choose a Scenic Wilderness float along the boundaries of Denali
National Park.
Dinner before returning to overnight lodging. (B,L,D)

DAY 8 - Depart Anchorage, Alaska
Travel to Anchorage and as time allows, last minute souvenir shopping and Anchorage attraction visits depending on individual flight
times. (B,L) Suggest flights for 5 pm or later.
